History of Marilyn Monroe

Original title of book: History of Marilyn Monroe
Number of Pages: 470
Work date: First object in 2001
Technique: Book folded, mouth painted with acryl, pink varnished American screw clamp
Description: A pink painted American screw clamp holds the biography of Marilyn Monroe looking at us from the cover of the book. Claudia Steiger has folded a widely opened mouth into the pages and painted the borders in red. Beauty and sensuality are the first impression of the spectator, in the second step however he is irritated by the screw clamp. It is a symbol of the pressure to which Marilyn Monroe was exposed by the public.
